ONGC and Tata Power Renewable Energy Partner to Boost India’s Energy Storage Sector

New Delhi: In a significant move towards strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) to explore new opportunities in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sector. The agreement was formalized during the India Energy Week 2025 in New Delhi.

India’s Renewable Energy Vision This partnership aligns with India’s target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel based capacity by 2030. TPREL has already made big strides in this space by commissioning India’s largest Solar and BESS project – 100 MW Solar PV plant with 120 MWh Utility-Scale BESS in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.
